Before the visit
Read the pet’s health notes and house rules. Ask the owner about triggers, recall and favourite treats.
Meet in a public place for the first visit. The owner comes along on every first visit.
During the visit
Dogs stay on a lead outdoors unless the owner says otherwise and it’s allowed there.
Never leave the pet alone, never let anyone else take them, and keep away from busy roads and other unknown dogs.
Watch for heat: short-nosed breeds overheat fast. Bring water.
If something goes wrong
Open the visit and tap Emergency. It shows your local emergency numbers, the owner’s phone and the pet’s vet.
Bite, injury or lost pet: call for help first, then report the incident in the app so our team can support you. Keep vet receipts and photos.
Spotting a scam
Nobody on Tomopaw should ask you for money. Report anyone who does.
